Elegant bridal editorial at Strawberry Hill House

Strawberry Hill House is special on any day of the year, but last week, covered in snow and flooded with wintery light, it looked magical…
This magnificent house originally belonged to Horace Walpole, son of Britain’s first Prime Minister and himself a famous figure in Georgian society and politics. Horace was fascinated by Gothic architecture and dreamt of creating his own Gothic-style castle complete with vaulted ceilings, ornate fireplaces and jaw-dropping amounts of gold leaf!
Nowadays, Strawberry Hill is a unique wedding venue. It’s safe to say that your wedding guests would marvel at the lavish state rooms and that your wedding photographs would be out of this world!
We shot Holly, our glamorous model, upstairs in the private rooms and the Great Parlour. She wore a striking halter gown by Australian designer Bo & Luca, St Erasmus pearl cluster earrings and an intricate hair piece - all from Luella’s Bridal. She carried exquisite spring flowers by Leigh Chappell, who also made the spectacular fireplace installation from sweet cherry blossom, hellebores and roses. Hair and Makeup artist, Sanni Sorma, created a dramatic look that perfectly suited our theatrical setting, and everything was captured beautifully by local wedding photographer, Maja Tsolo.
Afterwards, Holly wrapped up in a vintage faux fur coat and we braved the icy wind to get some shots of her in the snow. We were absolutely freezing by the end, but it was all worthwhile and the day provided excellent practise for how to successfully manage a winter wedding when the weather is less than kind...
