'Living Coral' - Pantone's Colour of the Year 2019

Today Pantone announced it’s Colour of the Year 2019 and already the internet is overflowing with exciting ways to use it in your home, your wardrobe, and indeed your wedding. Described as an ‘animating and life-affirming hue that energises and enlivens’, let’s hope it turns out to be a bellwether of the year to come!

Personally, I love how elegant coral can look as part of a muted palette, but I’m also a fan of bright, tropical themes. Unlike Ultraviolet, 2018’s colour of the year, ‘Living Coral’ feels very versatile, so I’m sure we’re going to see a lot of it at weddings to come…

Here are a few of my favourite ways to incorporate coral into your scheme.

I absolutely love this beautiful bouquet by US florist, Daffodil Parker . The coral peonies really make it pop, but the muted zinnias, roses and foliage keep it looking elegant and romantic. Photo by Geneoh Photography .

This stationery suite by Refine Studio is another example of how coral can be used to make a statement, but without taking over. Very chic. Photo by Jeremy Chou .

Coral is a gorgeous colour for bridesmaid outfits, especially for brunettes. Don’t be afraid to experiment with different dress styles and even patterns. One size rarely fits all and you want your maids to feel comfortable and confident when they’re by your side. Photo by Leila Brewster via Style Me Pretty.

Isn’t this fun! Coral and blue is such a fresh and cheerful combination and I adore this tropical vintage tablescape from Casa de Perrin . Photo by Calvin Elizabeth Photography .
